The BMW X5 is the most sophisticated SUV in the world, so I will describe many features in this auction; some of the features even X5 owners don’t know about. Just by reading this auction you will learn more about BMW X5 than in any other auction.
This BMW has been garage kept, adult owned and well maintained by a non smoking family.
This has the premium package which you must have if you are planning to buy a BMW and truly experience it. The many features in this vehicle do not come with all X5s. This is also a gas saver 3i engine, but it does not lack power and it has a towing capacity of 6000 LB which is higher than a standard 4.4L engine. It is an electronically controlled, full time 4 wheel drive (All Wheel Drive), great for the winter.
History:
I bought this vehicle from a TX dealer with a clean history, for my 3 month old daughter to have a safe vehicle to ride because it has an advanced ride control system and 6 airbags. I took it to the BMW service center at TX to check the vehicle, and it was serviced by them. They checked and told me it is in better condition than many similar ones they service. They recommended doing some regular services and I have done those. I drove it straight back to ND and this has been the best SUV we have ever owned (I have had high end imported SUVs before). Now we will be out of the country for a while for business and decided to sell the BMW rather than parking and paying insurance. It is still a daily driver. It gets about 22- 24 MPG highway. One time I got 28MPG while driving on cruise. With this big and powerful vehicle it is very good gas mileage.

Experience the Ultimate Driving Machine
Sit down in the driver’s seat, put the key in the ignition and the seat will automatically adjust in all directions to maximize your comfort, the steering wheel will automatically come down to your preferred location. They are all memorized for you and another driver can have their own settings.
I have found that there are many great features in this SUV I could not even have thought of. Once you own a vehicle that has all of the features this one has and can do all of the things this one can, you will wonder how you ever lived without them.
My favorite is the remote / key. This key has three buttons built into it –one will unlock the doors (press once to unlock just the driver’s door, again to unlock all doors), one to lock all the doors (when you push this central lock it automatically activates the security system) and one to pop open the rear hatch. But it does more than that –if you press and hold down one button, all of the windows will roll down on the SUV, and if you press and hold down the other they will roll back up. Not only that, but the key is programmed with a microchip which is read by the SUV when it is put into the ignition. The microchip insures that the key is not a duplicate fake and it will automatically adjust the power settings to memory position one (see below). Talk about remote control!
The first thing you notice when you sit in the driver’s seat is the gauge cluster. This SUV has an advanced LCD display which gives you multiple options. You can view your overall mileage, as well as the trip mileage. Something BMW does in their vehicles is add a MPG meter.
This SUV has two, one is a needle version which will tell you your current miles per gallon gas consumption. But it also has the option in the LCD to display your average MPG for a trip, all you have to do is reset the meter before starting to drive and it will constantly monitor your gas consumption and tell you what your average MPG is. This is a great way to see the difference between in town driving and interstate driving as well as monitor which gear and what speeds are best for getting the best gas mileage. The LCD display can also be changed to display the outside temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius.
This vehicle has an advance sensor system which will tell you when you need to to perform such maintenance as replace a brake pad or if a bulb burns out and needs to be replaced. All of this can be seen on the gauge cluster LCD.
Some of the other great features are the power mirrors –the master control is on the driver’s side door, they both have automatic defrost and the angle will automatically adjust when you put the car in reverse so you can see everything better. The power sun roof –which can open all the way back and also just tilt up the back. The power steering wheel adjustment – you can adjust the height of the wheel as well as how far it sticks out of the dash. The steering wheel has the cruise control buttons on the right hand side, very easy and convenient to control. The power door locks –located in the center console so it is conveniently located for driver and passenger, and the power rear hatch button –located on the center console, just push it and the rear hatch pops open. There is also a button in the center console for Dynamic Stability Control. This system automatically optimizes the stability of the SUV during rough driving conditions; it can adjust the RPMs to each wheel independently based on assessed need.
Another great feature is the power seats. Both driver’s and passenger’s seats have power controls which allow you to move the seat forward and back, recline the back, lift the bottom up or put it down (great for height adjustment for tall people) and also to adjust the lumbar support in your lower back by ‘inflating’ or ‘deflating’ the lower back section of the seat. The driver’s seat has the added feature of three memory buttons which allows you to customize the seat settings, the steering wheel position and also the side view mirrors angles and then program it into the button. This way up to three people can have their settings saved and easily recall the settings when they get in to drive. This definitely beats manually changing the settings each time you switch driving with someone.
This car is very advanced in every way. The temperature controls let you set different temperatures for driver and passenger, with an LCD display letting you chose your temperature down to the degree. And the rear air duct temperature can also be adjusted. The nicest thing about the air system in this SUV is that it has an inbuilt microfilter which cleans the air before letting it into the vehicle, this removable/replaceable filter is great for keeping dust and allergens out of the air you breath; I really liked this feature for my daughter, I knew she wasn’t breathing in all of the smog and dust we drove through.
The rear view mirror is great, it has a sensor inbuilt which detects the brightness and will tint the mirror –this is very helpful because you do not need to move the mirror at night when someone comes up behind you with bright lights shining into your mirror, the mirror will automatically adjust for you. The rear windows have built in sun shades (see photo), which are a great help on those sunny days to keep the bright sun out of your eyes, and they easily stow into the door when you want to put them down. There are also three programmable buttons for garage door openers.
The factory sound system includes the AM/FM radio and a 6 CD changer located conveniently in the center console. The LCD display will show you the time, radio station and genre of music playing. There are two cup holders in the center console which can be covered when not in use and two in the rear which can be closed/stowed when not being used. There is a power outlet in the front seat, back seat and the rear.
Ride quality is excellent, the most notable thing is the low road noise (compared to most other SUV’s). You also have an unobstructed view of your surroundings.
The SUV comes with the roof rack and also the factory installed hitch which is rated to tow 6000 lbs.
Condition –
Exterior
Since it is a garage kept vehicle the exterior is in great shape, paint is like a new vehicle. There is a small paint scratch in the front bumper as shown in the photo.
There is also some color distortion with the driver’s mirror –probably due to the inbuilt heater.
The headlights are great; they give off a crisp, bright light which allows you to see an excellent distance with both the dim and bright setting even on a pitch black night. And the fog lights work great as well.
The alloy wheels are in great condition and really add to the rich look of the vehicle. It comes with a full size spare wheel which is brand new.
Interior
The interior is in great condition. All of the leather on the seats look almost new (there is one spot on the driver’s seat bottom which is worn –as you can see in the photo –this is common of leather seats which see use).
All power functions work, the heater runs hot and the ac runs cold.
The floor carpet is in great condition in the front seats, back seats and rear, it comes with the factory floor mats and we also put in sleek black floor mats just after we bought it.
The door panels and dash all look like new (there is a bit of wear on one interior door handle, not even noticeable in the photos).
The seats are the most comfortable I have ever sat in; not only are they big and spacious, they feel as though they were made for long distance traveling. You never have to worry about getting sore or tired.
Engine and transmission
The engine runs strong and the 5 speed manual transmission works great. Since BMW has a world reputation especially for its drive train, I am not going to go into much technical detail about them. This is a good vehicle and I tried my best to describe in detail. Regular maintenance has been done, a new thermostat, air filter, spark plugs and microfilter have been put in -all original BMW. And we only used BMW recommended oil. I am not a mechanic, so cannot say anything technical about the SUV, but it has run great for me. As is natural of pre owned vehicles, this one does not have any warranty written or implied. Sold as is. You can inspect the vehicle before bidding and winning bidder can check it when they come to pick it up. If it is not as described I'll even pay your deposit back. I do not hold any responsibility after pickup/shipping.
