Here is a first generation 1972 K5 Blazer CST. This is the last year for this body style and the first year to have front disc brakes. Only 1,600 miles on all items mentioned below.
New Installed Parts:
Exterior
The body is very good with no visible rust. Black with a black top are the factory colors. Black paint is nice and shiny, but not perfect. It has a few scratches. Nothing you can see unless you are a few feet away. Trim and emblems are in fair condition.
I had a couple rust spots professionally repaired. Both doors on the lower panels had some rust. The rocker boxes and cab floor supports were repaired. As well as next to the rear tailgate handle was a slit in the paint (probably from removing the spare tire mount). All repaired well.
Doors - Rebuilt with new window felts, vertical window channel, weather-stripping and window regulators. Doors are nice and tight.
New Wiper motor, blades and hardware.
Hard Top - Preferred Single Wall top was just redone and looks new. Legal limit heavy tinted glass and new weather-stripping. It has dome light covers and bulbs. Both work well.
Soft Top - I have never installed the soft top since I purchased the truck. However it is a very nice Specialty Top with tinted, zip out windows. No rips or tears and all the hardware is there. This is a very nice top and they are no longer being made.
Engine - With Blue Print Engines with remaining 2Y/48K Warranty!
Blue Print Engines Vortec 383 Crate Motor - Vortec Cylinder Heads with 2.02 / 1.60 Valves, High Rise dual plane intake, 670 Truck Avenger Holley carb with Lokar Throttle Cable , High Torque Mini Starter, HEI Distributor, Edelbrock Mechanical Fuel Pump, Chevrolet Serpentine System With 134 A/C, Cal Custom Polished Aluminum Valve Covers and Air Cleaner. Stainless and 6AN Aeroquip fuel line with Pressure Gauge and Filter. Motor is rated at 405HP and 440 Torque.
A/C System
Vintage Air Direct Fit system - Uses late model GM compressor on Serpentine system. Blows strong ice cold air.
Transmission
4-Speed Automatic a complete TH700R4 Package - Torque converter to match engine, Transfer Case Adaptor, Tranny Mount, and Stainless Tranny cooler lines with heavy duty cooler, Lokar Kickdown Cable and Dip Stick.
Transfer Case
Completely rebuilt with new bearings, seals and fluid with Stock Shifter and Boot
Engine Cooling System
Ron Davis Racing Heavy Duty Aluminum Radiator - Dual electric fans with relays and 185' temp switch. Works exceptionally well!
Stainless Radiator Hoses with Aluminum Fittings.
Exhaust System
Doug Thorley headers - Silver Ceramic Coated Tri-Y design
Dynomax Super Turbos with 2 1/2" Aluminum Pipe - Exhaust exists just past rear wheels. My preference would be to change it to exit out the rear, but this sounds great.
Interior
Interior Tub was LinXed before I got it. No rust underneath.
Carpeting - Full black carpet kit with padding - High tunnel - Additional carpet on tailgate and lower doors.
Front Seats - ProCar Rally, Adjustable, Black Vinyl with seat brackets and 3-point shoulder seat belts.
Rear Seat - Restored Original Bench to match front seats with original style lap belts.
I do have the original front seats, they are not restored, but they do have a nice neoprene cover with matching rear cover. They are the original brown “saddle” color.
Gauges - Hainline Elite with Chrome Bezels and Pewter Face - 5" electric speedo and tach completes the 7-gauge set. Gauge pod is engine turned aluminum and includes all indicator lights and turn signals.
Note: The original gauge pod is also included. It's in great shape and everything works.
Interior Tire Mount - Very Rare Option just behind rear seat.
Note: I have an exterior tire mount (w/ cover) and brackets that were on the truck from the previous owner and it is included. These are hard to find as well.
Tuffy Center Console with CD Changer.
Security box behind the rear seat.
Stereo - Alpine Deck with component door speakers, 6X9 speakers in rear and 4X50 Watt amp.
Lights and Electrical
Painless Wiring complete chassis, dash and engine harness. Most vehicles this old are a fire hazard wafting to happen. Every single wire on the truck was replaced.
H4 Conversion Headlights with Xenon bulbs and Relays.
It has replacement side marker assemblies.
Optima Red Top battery
Steering
Complete stock replacement tilt column with rebuilt lower steering shaft.
Grant Steering Wheel - 15"
Bullet Proof Drag Link and Tie Rod system - Rod ends and adjustable rods. There is nothing to wear out and very durable.
Brakes
Stainless Hard Brake Lines - Complete set - Braided stainless at each corner.
Front - Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors with new loaded calipers.
Rear - Drum with complete rebuild kit - new wheel cylinders, pads and hardware - Drums turned.
It has a New Power Brake Booster and valve which works well.
Axles
Stock Dana 44 front with 4.11 gears - Aluminum Cover
Stock 12 Bolt Rear with 4/11 gears and traction lock - Aluminum Cover
4WD works well. I do not use it, but I just tested it and it functions as it should.
Suspension
Deaver Springs - Front and Rear Leaf Springs and Bushings - Factory height specs with 3/4 Ton in the rear. Deaver is the premier supplier of factory spec springs. The 3/4 ton rear is an overload type and does not affect ride quality.
Rancho Shocks - Adjustable 9000XL
Addco Sway Bars - 1 1/8" Front and 7/8" Rear with Poly Bushings. This is a dramatic difference from stock which would be a little sketchy in the turns. The Blazer handles very well.
Tires and Wheels
Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTX Tires - 33X12.50X17 - Very good all terrain tire for all conditions, especially on wet roads. They are very quiet.
Mickey Thompson Classic II Wheels - 17X9 with 4.5" back spacing.
It has Wheel Spacers on the rear - Billet Aluminum 1 1/2" wide. This improves track greatly. The rear is now the same width as the front.

I will assist the buyer with the shipping process. You may pick it up locally as well.
I encourage you to get an inspection or see it in person. I have described it to the best of my ability.
All work was done professionally. This is a very nice drivable truck. It’s a real head-turner. You will not be disappointed with this truck. Not quite show quality, but the price is not show quality either. I have over 35K in receipts from the restoration and that didn’t include the price of the truck.
