IT’S TIME TO SELL ME BELOVED DEFENDER Well, first off lets understand this is an auction, you bid you buy! Do not bid unless you have your funds in order. Bidders with 2+ Neg feedbacks please contact me prior to bidding to establish yourself as a reliable bidder. Otherwise your bid will be rejected and you'll be blocked from bidding. Ok, this is a long read, but rest assured it's for you, who on earth wants to buy a car with a 2 line discription? Not me, I want to know what I am buying inside and out. As you can see from the pics she is a real beauty, always garaged and meticulously maintained. Rest assured I am very A%^$ retentive about my cars; my friends say even to a fault. I have owned this Defender for the past 4 years and enjoyed every minute of it. We have taken many a fun trip in it and even pulled our Casita camper on occasion and with ease. We love to camp be it tent or camper and there is no better vehicle to do it in, turns heads where ever you go; the masses will be on you about your Defender. They’ll tell you how stout it looks, how haus it looks, how bad ass it looks and how it’s ready to climb a tree or do something equally as adventurous. Only reason for sale is I’m wanting to gather funds to buy a New style Range Rover, I already have have 3x 109’s and 3x 88’s and feel 6 is all the Defenders I need. Color is Coniston Green and in my opinion is by far the best color of them all. Is the British Racing Green of Land Rovers. All OEM (Original Equipment manufacturer) aside of the shocks, see below Drives great! Absolutely no issues at all, everything works, has cold A/C and great heater. Feel free to fly in and drive her home…..even if you live in Alaska she’ll do you proud and that’s no BS! Nearest Airport is Texarkana Regional, airport code: TXK Continental and American Airlines both provide service to Texarkana, Arkansas via Dallas Fort worth, TX OK about the Rover: Ok see the pic, looks new, drive it , feel new! Absolutely no wondering around looseness or 13 year old 4x4 feel about it. Drives dead tight and dead smooth. Motor is a fuel injected 3.9 litre V-8, has plenty of power, uses no oil, no smoke and temp stays steady at the half way mark; even when outside is over 100 Degrees Has a belt/pully off the motor driven fan and also has electric cooling fans for A/C use, both OEM Bran new 7” halogen head lamps, old ones where a bit yellow so have a fresh new set. Gas Charged Pro-comp shocks installed 3 months ago Brakes shoes all replaced 2,000 miles ago Just had a fresh oil change and filters (as always I use Castrol GTX) along with all fluids checked and topped up with all grease nipples greased 16”Maxis Mudder tires are still like new with a good 80% treat life left. Spare is likely the original and has lots of tread and holds air no problem 2x new oxygen sensors 4 months ago $114 each New plugs (Bosch platinum), wires, rotor and cap (OEM) 4 months ago No fault codes on the code display and no warning lamps on the dash 4x new upgraded A/C louvers from Rovers Down South, the old ones were falling apart (a common issue). Is a 5 speed stick shift with the highly sort after LT230 transfer case with CDL (center differential lock) Clutch is smooth and gears change with ease, 2nd has a grind if you try to shift too fast, that’s a common issue on Land Rover manual gear boxes. Shift normally and you’ll never encounter it. All gears stay in place and never pop out. Transfer case works as it should in all gears hi and low. Interior floor panels are fully lined with Dynamat type sound heat proofing by a company called B-Quiet, the difference it made is like night and day for both road noise and heat transfer. Doors have it too. Professionally done so you cannot see it without pulling up the rubber mats and trust me these are very cool trucks, but pretty noisy at 70+ mph unless this has been done. I could hardly hear my wife talk. Yea, it was her idea for sound proofing the truck, I was fine with it ! Has all OEM rubber mats, rear mat has the huge Land Rover logo embossed in it. Rear seating for 2 facing forward, this seat also folds forward for more cargo room in the back when hauling big items OEM tool kit and jack with handles under the driver’s seat box Leather bound owners manual and records with 3 keys. Additional storage space under the passenger seat box where the ECU and code display is housed Center cubby box with lid that houses and hides the CD radio and has 2x cup holders The Stereo is OEM but a serious upgrade, had the old school Tape Cassette AM/FM radio, upgraded to a Land Rover’s Single CD AM/FM radio found only in the 2007 UK Defenders, far superior to the old unit. Sounds great and has many more features like: RDS/ Station and song read-out on the LCD, separate Bass and Treble control, no silly code to mess with and my favorite feature is you can play this stereo for one hour without using the ignition key, after that it shuts of automatically, if you want it back on simply switch it on again for another hour. So no dead batteries from leaving the radio on too long while camping etc. Will play as long as you like if you put the ignition key in. Speakers are 4x 6.5”and are high end polypropylene 3-way by Pioneer. Vehicle has no rust inside or out, note: They do not salt the roads down here and we are 9 hours from the nearest coast. Why buy a Defender up north for the same price when down here they are rust free! Rotten door sills and floor pans, etc. I have purchased vehicles from up north in the past and each time have seriously regretted it, if it has lived there it’s whole life a 13 year old vehicle and newer the frame likely is covered in rust/holes, you can’t undo any bolts….. Just the simplest jobs like new brake pads are an all day nightmare and you end up busting things. You won’t find any of that here! Paint is original and very nice indeed….. As you can see it has a brilliant shine, body panels are Aluminum, hood is steel. Body has a few small small blemishes, but you have to look close. I will try to show this with pictures. Overall this truck is in wonderful like new condition inside an out, much much cleaner and better kept than all I have seen. In fact people always ask me if it’s brand new, as you can appreciate that’s quite a compliment for a 13 year old 4x4, likely stems back to my A*^ retention issues J The fiberglass top was purchased brand new 4 years ago; I have the receipt for a whopping almost $4,000 from Land Rover. Battery is perfect….. is very strong, slings the motor over no matter how cold. Motor always stats righ up and runs smooth. Gas mileage is 12 to 16 miles per gallon depending on how heavy your foot is. Defenders have a pretty small gas tank so the range is about 200 miles, be warned if the gage says empty, it’s empty, so don’t doodle around in the red zone. I found that out the hard way when I first bought it and pushed me luck, literally rolled into a gas station on mere fumes. As you can see in the pictures the front bumper has only available in England rubber end caps. Like the radio I purchased these items while on vacation in Engkland, so pretty cool as no other Defender likely has these in North America. The end caps really beef up the bumper. All turn and brake lights were replaced with New 6 months ago, the old ones were OK but shiny new ones look better! The front are clear lens with amber bulbs Rear view mirror was upgraded from a nothing trash mirror to a $400: Auto dimmer with LCD read out, shows exterior temperature and 8 cardinal points/ North South East and West for direction the vehicle is heading, also breaks down to North East (NE, SE, ) etc. Will show temp in F or C As you can see in one of the pics, the ignition key area is illuminated, another great updrage so you can see where to put the key at night, also added rear cargo lights tied into the front interior light that operates when you open a door Well, I have tried to describe this truck as if I were buying it or as if I had never seen a Land Rover Defender before….. With as much detail as I could think off. I have bought a few cars on e-bay and I have nearly always been disgusted at what I got compared to what was discribed, especially when having them shipped to me. Last fall I bought an XKE Jaguar on e-bay and was royally screwed by the seller in Boston, MA, this is not how I do business! I take great pride in the ownership of my cars and the sale. There is nothing I want more than to hear, “ John the Defender took me home with ease, was a fabulous and fun drive and I absolutely love it! Thank you Sir! “ Thanks for taking the time to read / study my action and best of luck to you in getting this beloved Defender 90, must promise you’ll take care of her. Please ask any questions, but first be sure it has not already been answered above, such repeat questions will be ignored.
