MAKE AN OFFER!!! WONT LAST THIS TIME AROUND! Up for sale is my 1965 Land Rover Series IIa 88". It is equipped with a 2.25L gas engine that DOES run. The engine has a Holley 1904-series Carb (I'm told they are more efficient) and some sort of electric fuel pump. After purchasing this one, my dad and I cleaned up the engine and tore it down some. We cleaned out the bottom end and rebuilt the oil pump. The cylinder walls are smooth as glass. The cooling system has been flushed and new hoses have been purchased for the radiator and water pump. We had to purchase a new dynamo/generator since the old one was the original and was nonfunctional. Starter in great shape. The engine turns on with a single flick of the key and idles nicely. The rear crossmember is in good shape as are the spring perches. Door tops and original air filter canister are in the cargo area of the truck. The truck makes for an excellent project for anyone. Series Land Rovers are very easy to work on and good for learning. It has the WARN locking hubs at the front and those work flawlessly as well. Being the 88' there is less Rover to work on (than, say, a 109 five door wagon). Another plus is that the truck has 5 Military Tube-Type tires (9.00 16R - approx 34" tall) The car was primed for a paint job and the aluminum top was s anded down. The Bad Frame needs attention Windshield and both side wagon windows have cracks Emergency Brake does not work and brakes need to be replaced.
