1958/62 Willys DJ-3A (Dispatcher) 2WD Jeep. This jeep is a 1962 open body DJ3A. Tagged titled as a 1958 DJ3A. Included is the original 1962 SN tag w/Jeep in case you wish to have new title issued by your state DMV. 1962 SN Tag does match number stamped on frame. actual mileage unknown. Jeep runs drives good w/good power from RMC M38 military motor. I have no information on engine as far as amount of miles on it or any work done to it. Recently had mechanic installed new head gasket he stated motor looked great inside for used eng. He took pics of it if interested in those. Jeep was redone a few years ago and never driven. It has been stored inside since 1999. Some of the work done in last 3-4 years was having frame sandblasted/painted, tub sandblasted with few spots repaired. Many new parts installed, also over the last few years such as: spring pivot bushings, shocks w/rear coil overs, brake drums turned, wheel cyl kits, master cyl kit, wheel bearings seals, tie rod ends, drag link kit, tires (4), windshield glass seal, tailgate chain covers, taillights, hood blocks hold down clips, small under dash gauge set (amp/temp/oil), emergency brake inner cable, u-joints, steering gear kit, fuel pump, water pump, floor mats (front), seats rebuilt w/seat covers. Engine in DJ is a L4-134 "RMC" M38 engine W/SN RMC 74*** 3 Spd column shift T-96 Trans. which shifts smoothly.....No grinding or popping of any gear(s), windshield frame is also from M38 jeep. Little smoke on start up after sitting for a time, minor leakage of oil (typical) Jeep's starter, generator, VR, battery, emergency brake, turn signals, lights, fuel tank fuel gage, MIL engine (good power), Trans. all in good working order. Jeep comes with: good transferable 1958 Iowa title 1958/1962 SN tags, 5 original 15" 4 hole wheels, 5 original hubcaps, 4 stainless trim rings(3 orig 1 oddball). Jeep needs; speedometer gear at trans end of cable (speedo cable OK speedo works), front end aligned following recent new tie rod replacement, solex carb adjusted, air breather....Oil bath or dry type (will look for aftermarket replacement for jeep), choke cable (ordered). Lots of newer parts installed a over the last 3-4 years but none have seen any use as jeep has just recently been put back in service. I wasnt planning on selling this jeep, but the recent murder of my son (6/20/08) has left me with unexpected expenses that need taken care of ASAP. I had hoped to add black "best top" / heater back seat but just never got to it. I dont have those items just had hope to finish jeep off with adding those. Jeep starts within 2 seconds from turning key w/no choking, idles fine, little cold blooded from solex carb. Not quite sure I have it set correctly, Have no paperwork on it so I am just guessing on how to set it. Aluminum tag on left side of dash is a "Peddlers Permit" #24 from "City of Omaha" 1968. Tag seems to confirm a small part of this jeeps history in the 60s. Buyer is responsible for any shipping costs and shipping arrangements. Jeep sold "as is" w/NO warranty. Jeep located in central Iowa... DSM area. email w/any questions..... blagan@mchsi.com .....Prior to bidding Please.
