Vehicle Description
Here is a 1951 Jeep which was once converted to small block ford power but the ford engine and adaptor plate are gone, the engine compartmant is intact otherwise. The original 3 speed manual trans and 2 speed transfer case are intact and in place. The body has a few minor rust spots but nothing serious considering age of the vehicle. As you may notice from the shot of the inside floor and tailgate, the interior flooring is in great shape, the wood strips on the floor are tight and I believe original. Most of the rust seen on the outside surfaces are where a would be body paint man started "getting ready to " repaint, etc. The body does not indicate that it was ever wrecked The paint that shows through the most appears to be original. The only serious modification to the steering (and body) was when the ford engine was installed and the grill was cut and a ford steering gear was mounted on the front end of the frame. This could be repaired if you wanted to go back to original config with minimal effort but if you intend to put a modern engine in it, it will probably work for you. Not shown in the photos, I have the original four cylinder, I got it when I bought this glider. I want $200 additional for the complete willys engine. I had entertained the notion of putting it back together original. I also have some other parts including 4 original 15" jeep wheels of correct type and vintage (I paid $20. each for these wheels). Please do not ask about them until after end of auction and only if you are seriously interested but winning bidder has first rights of refusal to all extra parts. The original seats are gone, the seats in it are from some unknown car, they do the job but are not original. The doors open and close ok, the original pushbutton door opener buttons work (no door handles on the two front doors, just push a button and the door pops open, kinda neat if you have never seen them before! Starting bid is less than I paid when I bought it and no I won't take lower offers. local pickup is invited, I can deliver to locations within 500 mile radius of Kingman Arizona my delivery fee is $2.50 per mile one way from Dolan Springs, Arizona.
